Washing Hair Without Shampoo
How Do I...I have grown tired of the health and beauty industries' products that are expensive and full of ingredients that have unkown longterm effects on health and the environment. As a result, I have decided to research other methods for obtaining the same results with more natural, simpler products.
Related: How ToSummary: I have begun washing my hair with baking soda and conditioning it with apple cider vinegar. I am quite happy with the results and would not go back to regular shampoos and conditioners, because of the cost, and all the chemicals and who knows what else in them. I simply pour approximately 1 tablespoon of baking soda into a jar and mix it with 1 cup of water. I then pour it over my scalp and rub it in. A couple of times a week I do the vinegar condition, which consists of 1 tablespoon of vinegar mixed with one cup of water. The vineger smell washes out. I find that my hair is clean and I have not noticed much difference in how it feels, although my wife says she thinks it is a bit less curly. Anyway, for how much cheaper it is than shampoo, I am very happy with the results.
